You have found the web site for Rice Baptist Church, which is an old fashioned independent Baptist church which is not affiliated with any organization. This church bares the name of "Rice" solely because years ago land was donated by the Rice family from their estate to build the church house and "Rice" signifies the location in the New Market area. At one point it was actually called Rice's Chapel.

 

Rice Baptist Church, as it is known today is also a KJV bible believing church, which further stratifies  it in the minority among Baptist churches in Alabama.

 

Our church is a small friendly work in NE Alabama, about 12 miles outside of Huntsville. We support world wide bible (KJV) believing missionaries and focus on the following three purpose of the local church:

 

Worship the Creator and Saviour, The Lord Jesus Christ; (Upward Focus)

Edification of the saints, through ministry of the written word of God; (Inward Focus)

Evangelization of the lost through the work of God's people. (Outward Focus)

 

Our congregation is made up of friendly, caring likeminded people who try to love the Lord and each other and who are concerned about other people. You will find services at Rice Baptist Church to be simple, informal and centered around The Lord Jesus Christ and His word (The King James Version of the bible for English speaking people).

 

We have old fashioned music and do not embrace the newer trend which incorporates churchy cliché lyrics into fleshy beated music (Rock or Showtime) which draws a performance like response. We believe there is a difference between spiritual music and fleshy music.

 

Our teaching is bible based and is the only source for doctrine. We have the same philosophy as the old time evangelistic Billy Sunday did  (converted baseball player) who is credited with saying: "If the bible says one thing and scholarship says something else, scholarship can go jump in the lake!"

Two ordinances of the local church (Baptism and the Lord's Supper)

Two offices of the local church (Bishop and Deacon)

A distinction among the judgments of God (Judgment seat of Christ, White throne Judgment, Judgment of Angels, Judgment of the Nations at the second coming, Judgment of Sin, at Calvary Self judgment of the saint, Judgment of Israel)
